Before I started writing this article, I thought that all vegan chocolate was dark chocolate. I never even thought to look for vegan milk chocolate. Seems kind of silly now that I look at it, but it wasn’t until I had actually started writing about this that it dawned on me I hadn’t ever actually looked it up. Not being a huge milk chocolate fan myself, it didn’t occur to me.
I was about halfway through writing when it hit me that I should check and see, I mean, what’s a chocolate guide if I haven’t looked at all the options? So, I’d like to present to you my delicious findings.
Lets start of with something that is TRULY Vegan in a Pinch.
You can get this at most grocery stores, it’s super simple and easy. Great for making some chocolate almond milk for the kids (or you), you can also drizzle it over the top of your So Delicious or homemade ice cream! It surprised me that this was vegan, but, it definitely is. Which, lets face it, is really happymaking.
Now, lets go for something a little darker! If you’re vegan, some of the more readily available chocolate you’ll be able to find is dark chocolate. Most of it is vegan on accident because of the high cacao content. You still want to be careful and give a quick double check for dairy products though. Things such as:
- Milk Fat
- Milk Solids
- And Milk in general
Now that we have that covered!
Whilst not vegan on purpose, like quite a lot of dark chocolate this is REALLY good stuff. Both this and their Rainforest Mint is vegan, and amazing. I love mint chocolate personally.
While I wish their stuff was all exclusively vegan, these guys still do rather amazing environmental work and are worth looking into. Dark chocolate with a cause! I’ve found these guys at lots of places, even a little mom and pop shop near me. Here’s a little “find a place near me” thing to aid in your search!
Here is one of the awesome looking bits of “Milk” chocolate I found. I haven’t had a chance to try these yet, but here’s to hoping I will be able to in the future. Until then, if any of you guys try it please leave a comment letting us know what you thought.
I’m really curious to see how this stuff is. Now, I don’t see any physical stores that sell this stuff, but they ship internationally to over 20 countries so you should be able to get it no matter where you are in the world. Convenience? I think so!
I found these guys as I was writing this as well, and I have to admit they sure do look yummy. The ingredients are simple and much like the Milkless Milk Chocolate they seem to be capable of being shipped everywhere. Though, unlike the Milkless they are in stores! You can go here to see if there’s one near you.
These you can find pretty easily and they are seriously some of the best chocolate. Whenever I want some quick indulgence I reach for this because it’s simple but readily available at most grocers.
My partner will often pick this up for me for a holiday or if I’m having a spectacularly bad week (I’m a dark chocolate freak so…) and it’s always a nice pick me up. I’ve seen this at places like Walmart or at checkouts of even craft stores and such. Strange, right?
I think that’s it for a nice vegan chocolate overview, some simple finds to have shipped to you or to nab out at Walmart, or you can order them at Amazon. Just remember if trying something new, even if it’s dark chocolate you want to double check the ingredients list or you might find something unwanted in there!
