Running a farm animal sanctuary takes lots of hard work and Rowdy Girl Sanctuary is no different. Cash is usually in short supply and sometimes even finding volunteers can be challenging. One of the nice things about Rowdy Girl’s planned permaculture farm is that once it’s up and going the sanctuary should be self sufficient. Unfortunately until that happy day, they still need your help. The good news is there are lots of ways you can help! From donating to onsite volunteering. All of it rewarding in it’s own way. Let’s talk about the different ways you can get involved!
If you are in the area, you can go and volunteer in person at the sanctuary. They need people to help them around the farm doing daily chores and taking care of the animals. Some of the things that need doing are routine like cleaning and feeding animals. There are more long term time investments too like the fencing they are working to get installed. You know they wouldn’t turn down help with that!
Not interested in getting your hands dirty? No problem, office and clerical work needs doing too, if you aren’t really into cleaning up poop. And, don’t forget the seasonal hay baling! I can remember riding the tractor while my Great Grandpa baled hay back when I was a little kid. I’m sure the machinery is different now’a days but the process is the same. And so is the fresh air, sunshine and feeling of accomplishment from a job well done.
Another way you can help out if you aren’t close enough to volunteer, or alongside volunteering is to “adopt” one of the Rowdy Girl Sanctuary animals. Basically this means that you sponsor that animal for so much a month to help pay for their food, vet care, and other needs. Whether you can afford to support an animal each month or only once, your assistance is GREATLY appreciated. Because just as important as going there to feed the animals is making sure they have the money to get the food and other supplies their animals require. So, this is another great way to help out.
Spread The Word!
If you can’t donate or volunteer, spread the word about Rowdy Girl Sanctuary! Tell your friends and family about this place and the cool work they are doing. Shout about them on social media and tell everyone how much they are helping our animal friends. We need this sanctuary to succeed folks. They are blazing a trail for other cattle ranchers to follow. If we want to see the end of animal agriculture we will need LOTS of places like Rowdy Girl to house all the farm animals who WILL NOT BE SLAUGHTERED!
Never underestimate how much this one thing can help. Each vegan saves the lives of over 11,000 animals in their lifetime. Yep, that’s a lot of lives you can save. So if you aren’t already, please consider going vegan. It’s probably one of the biggest ways you can help Rowdy Girl and ALL sanctuaries. By taking away the demand for meat, dairy, wool, you are helping save lives and reduce/remove the need for such sanctuaries to exist in the first place.
